Almost done Cookin'

Hey yall! I have had quite a busy couple of weeks. Been getting ready for DanniLyn to make her arrival, which if you didn't know is going to be March 22nd at roughly 8am! I am so excited but these last couple of days feel like they are most definitely dragging out. It actually kinda sucks. I really wanted to get as much accomplished before DanniLyn got here for the girls spring/Summer clothes, I have gotten a lot made but not as much as I wanted. With this pregnancy being High Risk & me having to take it easy I couldn't quite get done what I wanted, but it is okay, I am sure it wont be hard to get stuff done after we all get into a routine when she makes her debut. I finally got my serger fixed. I am so excited about that! I finally get to have the professional finish on my garments! I couldn't be more happier! Let me tell you what threading a serger is NO JOKE! It is hard & confusing! It took me for EVER to get it done properly! I learned how to take T shirts and turn them into dresses for my girls, which is so far pretty much one of my favorite things to make because T Shirt material is so soft & stretchy, plus it is light weight so its prefect for those hot summer days! I scored some great Tees from Goodwill last weekend! I was so happy about that. Spent about $30 and got a zillion tees that were in good shape! I need to hit up other thrift stores in the area & find some more. Anyways Here are some photos of what I have been up to. I must tell you my sketch book is filling up pretty fast & I love how it feels to see my sketches come to life. I just love it & my girls seem to, too!

Biggest Slacker award goes to...

ME!! That's right! I have been slacking since like January to update this blog! Instead I have been just adding photos to my facebook. Sometimes between the girls going crazy or growing this little booger in my belly (who keeps giving us a run for our money) it just gets hard. So this post is definitely going to be filled with a ton of photos. Some of the stuff I have been making hasn't even gotten photographed yet, but that's okay, eventually, one day everything will be documented... haha Yea right! Who am I kidding?!

This is a Cloth Diaper I made for Bella which her chucky butt has already grown out of! Gotta be those thunder thighs! it is one of my favorite prints, the Mermaid flannel has gotten used so many times, I am almost out of it! Going to call for a trip to the fabric store just to go get some more!

The next is a car seat cover. I absolutely LOVE it, I am one of "those Moms" who hates to have any kind of sun or wind blowing in my babies face! So I thought it would be great to have a blanket that attached to the car seat (by velcro or ribbon) so that it doesn't blow away, So this is what I came upwith! I also made the edges rounded so that it didn't touch the ground or get messy from those gross shopping carts while we're grocery shopping! Last big plus about this is that it will keep all the unwanted eyes & germs away from DanniLyn when she arrives! :) I also made a set for a friend at my husbands work who are expecting their first boy, I love the little base ball fabric! It is also reversible!! (Seen on the right) I also have a photo of the matching Tie Onesie & head support I made to match the baseball car seat cover. It was my first attempt at appliqueing and making something stuffed with cotton lol. I think it came out pretty good for my first time but maybe that's just because I am biased?

So Miss Kadience, my oldest daughter has been my guinea pig. She has been modeling all of the clothing but she doesn't mind she called them Princess "photo shoots" Most of the clothing that i have made for the girls can be worn my both of them because Bella & Kadience are the same size only Kadience is a little taller, So essentially it saves on how much I sew, So you will probably see these outfits on both of the girls as it warms up! I have been able to get most of my sewing down while Bella is asleep too. Kadience has her own little sewing kit and she likes to sit down beside me and "sew" clothing for her dolls. Its a good time for Her & I to share "big girl" time together. Eventually it will be a right of passage, I am going to teach all of our girls to sew! I am looking into getting Kadience a sewing machine, you know those tiny kid ones? She wants so bad to not hand stitch lol. With time my sweet child you will get one! Kadience loves to hand me the pins when i have to pin a garment together & she likes to cut the excess thread when I am done sewing. She says that its her job & if she doesn't do it she gets upset! Its adorable to see how interested she is to learn!

I have come up with names for each of my dresses lol that probably sounds a little crazy, but I had to. I sketch all of the "designs" and then I put them to work, I make all my own patterns and stuff. It makes me feel so accomplished I guess. I am pretty proud, every time we go out I have been getting compliments on how cute the girls outfits are! It really great to know that people notice, and since I put so much work into it, when I tell people that I made the outfit they are shocked because it is put together so well, you would have thought I went out and bought it! Right now I am going to start working on Moto clothing, Since my husband is a Marine I love seeing little kids with the digi style clothing mixed in. I think it is adorable!! I am collecting digi cammies right now, so if you have a donation or your hubby is getting out, or just has piles of cammies laying around let me know! I would love the opportunity to get some practice by making outfits for your little ones!
